We've moved! Maydel is now located at 3118 N Lincoln Ave. Chicago

Chicago Location

3118 Lincoln outside

Come visit Chicago’s new favorite craft store in person! Maydel is now available for in-person shopping 6 days a week. We also have a learning space for classes, events, and private tutoring in embroidery and other needle arts.

Maydel headquarters is located in Chicago’s bustling Lakeview neighborhood at 3118 N Lincoln Ave., conveniently near the Brown Line, the Red line, and several bus lines, including express. There is also ample parking for bicycles and cars. Please see below for more information about getting here.

Hours

We’re open for shopping on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays by appointment. We’re currently closed on Sundays.

Little free craft supply library in snow

Our Little Free Craft Supply Library has moved to 1926 W Montrose in order to keep it in the Ravenswood neighborhood that so lovingly adopted it. We’ll be getting a new library for our Lakeview location later this fall. Stay tuned!

Accessibility

Maydel’s entrance is ADA-compliant at 33.5 inches wide and all shopping areas are wheelchair accessible. The doorway has a small bump that must be wheeled over if using a wheelchair or scooter. The door must be opened manually, or you can knock to be let in by a member of our staff. Not all products are reachable while seated, but we’re working to improve this with innovations like our needle bike.

We have a light rolling cart and small baskets to hold items while you’re shopping and height-adjustable work tables for classes and events. A lighted magnifier is also available for classes on request, as are seats in, or far from, the window area.

Our restroom is wheelchair accessible and contains two grab bars on the wall.
