Kazue Yoshikawa is a Japanese crafter based in Kyoto, Japan. She is offering sashiko lessons and private craft tours to tourists from all over the world.
Sashiko is a Japanese folk embroidery which has been practiced for about 500 years. Originally, the technique of sashiko developed to reinforce the fabric in poor periods when the fabric was extremely valuable. In modern times, people are enjoying sashiko’s geometric designs and its simple beauty in addition to its practicality.
Kazue is currently offering monthly online sashiko lessons in which all the spots fill up fast. Follow her instagram @sashiko.lab to learn more about her lessons and sashiko.
