Badass Herstory is a global craftivism project centering the stories of as many folks of marginalized genders as possible, part community-organizing project, part public art project, part digital art project.
I’m asking you to create a 12 inch x 12 inch piece of art on a textile (add a one inch margin) that tells the world your story. Literal, figurative, symbolic, abstract…whatever feels right to you.
You can embroider it, sew it, quilt it, felt it, weave it, knit it, paint it, play with mixed media; whatever you want so long as it’s on fabric of some sort.
The only rule for your submission is that the piece be no bigger than 12 x 12 inches and created on a piece of fabric. Add a one inch blank margin (total fabric size should be 13 x 13 inches) so that we can stitch all of the stories together without impacting your art.
