Their durability, quality, and unrivaled color selection are what make these sequins the preferred material for tambour embroidery by the world’s major couture houses and academies.
Cellulose acetate sequins are also preferred by embroiderers who value sustainability. These eco-friendly, responsibly made sequins come from plant fiber, not plastic. They contain no fossil-fuel products, and are both biodegradable and recyclable (under specific conditions), but will still hold up to abrasion, steam, and dry cleaning.
Porcelaine satin sequins are opaque with a semi-gloss, porcelain finish that maintains its color no matter the direction of the light. These sequins are a special edition that were produced as a limited series. They are available as flat paillettes in 3mm and 4mm diameters. Sequins can be purchased in the following amounts:
- By the inch: 1 inch is approximately 100 sequins
- By the strand/worm: 1 strand/worm is approximately 1,000 sequins
- By the skein: 1 skein consists of 10 strands/worms, which is approximately 10,000 sequins
