Description
Gilt (gold-plated) rococo is a twisted thread for metalwork embroidery. It has a twisted fiber core with gilt filament wrapped around it in the opposite direction, resulting in a wavy appearance. The wave pattern is very even, making it possible to couch this thread in pairs or rows.
Sold by the yard, 10g spool or 25g spool.
Rococo comes in fine, medium, and large widths. Measurements are as follows:
- Fine: approx. 0.6mm diameter and 1.0mm width (from wave top to bottom)
- Medium: approx. 0.8mm diameter and 1.5mm width (from wave top to bottom)
- Large: approx. 1.0mm diameter and 2.0mm width (from wave top to bottom)
