Description
Gilt smooth passing is a fine thread made from a gold-wrapped silk core (0.5% gold content). Perfect for filling in smooth areas of goldwork projects, typically added via couching.
Sold by the yard or in full spools of 25g (approx. 56 yds/51m in size 6). Smaller sizes have more yardage; larger sizes have less.
Sizes are as follows:
- Size #7: approximately 0.8mm in diameter
- Size #6: approximately 0.7mm in diameter
- Size #5: approximately 0.5mm in diameter
- Size #4: approximately 0.4mm in diameter
