Description

BONUS: This project comes with a helpful video that takes you through the project with tips for success at every juncture.

This project shows off the beauty of blackwork in a simple contemporary design. Taking inspiration from MC Escher and his impossible objects, BaaMeow has created an easy pattern that’s perfect for blackwork beginners. Simple to stitch but sure to impress!

The pattern area is 40×48 stitches. If worked on 14 count Aida (or 28 count evenweave over 2) it measures approximately 3.5 x 2.9 inches – fitting perfectly in a 5 inch hoop as shown above.

This stitch pattern uses a technique known as ‘blackwork’. Rather than building up a picture with cross stitch, this pattern uses straight lines of back stitch or running stitch to create an intricate pattern on gridded fabric.

Please note the pattern for this project is a digital PDF download – not a printed booklet.
