Composed of filament silk and faux gold foil, this thread is a beautiful, professional grade choice for Japanese-style embroidery.
This goldwork thread is made from synthetic rather than real gold, which gives it a high shine and very bright color. It does not tarnish, resists untwisting, and has a somewhat segmented appearance.
Often stitched in paired rows, this is a rare goldwork embroidery that can be stitched with, rather than needing to be couched. It can even be used to ouch itself or other threads. A size 22 or 24 chenille or tapestry needle is recommended.
