Description
In this project for advanced stitchers, inspired by the panel depicting “Sight” from the Flemish Tapestries of the Lady and the Unicorn, students will learn how to create raised stumpwork figures, complete with background scenery, to give the figures both depth of place and context. Techniques will include Petit Point, needlelace patterns, padding dimensional figures, as well as a variety of other surface embroidery techniques worked in both twisted and flat silks of various sizes. Students will then learn how to mount their finished work on either a workbox frame or prepare it for a wall-hanging display.
