In 2019, following a mass shooting in her hometown of Dayton, OH, Ciara began a practice of sending small hand-stitched embroideries along with her mailed letters to Congress about the issue of gun violence. This pattern features the words of Kris Brown, president of Brady: United Against Gun Violence (quoted following a mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, TN on March 27, 2023).
