In 2019, following a mass shooting in her hometown of Dayton, OH, Ciara began a practice of sending small hand-stitched embroideries along with her mailed letters to Congress about the issue of gun violence. This pattern features the words of RaCarol Woodard, Regional Organizing Director at Equity Alliance (quoted following a mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, TN on March 27, 2023).
