In 2019, following a mass shooting in her hometown of Dayton, OH, Ciara began a practice of sending small hand-stitched embroideries along with her mailed letters to Congress about the issue of gun violence. This pattern features the words of Ramiro Guzman, brother of Sonia Guzman, who was killed in a mass shooting in Cleveland, TX on April 28, 2023.
