Tom Katsumi grew up in a craft-loving family in the UK and focused his attention on embroidery after attempting to live-stitch the 2015 UK election results in real time.
Since then he has enjoyed exploring new and interesting ways to use embroidery and cross stitch, such as a solar calendar that takes 164 years to complete, a ‘grid-stitch’ alternative to traditional cross-stitch and lots and lots of embroidered moss.
Common subject-matter includes the natural world, pop culture, queer politics and famous mysteries.
